Making the Most Out of Lost Blog Posts: How My Guest Articles Became a Book

Writer: Eirian Naomi OmidEirian Naomi Omid

Back in the day (2019-2023) I thought guest writing for blogs was AMAZING.

And it probably is, for some people. But, for me, guest writing for blogs seemed to just be the source of drama more than anything else.

The first blog I wrote for didn’t actually post my articles. Which was weird cuz they were posting other authors’ posts...

The last blog I wrote for recently took the author names off of all the articles. So, any name recognition I had been trying to build by writing for that blog, has officially been lost.

And somewhere in between there I wrote for a blog that didn’t last for very long.

That blog was a writing blog. And I LOVED writing for it.

An acquaintance of mine had asked me and a couple of our author friends to write guest blog posts for her writing blog.

She just needed an article or two.

I wanted to write an entire series of articles.

And at the time, my writer acquaintance was down for that.

But then, somewhere along the line, she had to pull her website down.

And we lost contact.

Thankfully, the blog posts themselves were not lost to the ether.

See, I wanted to do a blog post every month. And, even though I didn’t write all of the articles because of the circumstances, I did have them all outlined.

Thus, Creating Pop Culture was born!

I took all of the blog posts and edited them into a how-to write Urban Science Fantasy book. Because, that’s what I’ve been writing for the last… almost 2 decades.

And I thought my writing technique was worth sharing with you.

You can buy Creating Pop Culture at your favorite book seller.

I hope you enjoy the deep dive into my method!
